Summer Fun on the 101 officially started May 18th with Battle of the Bands and will continue rocking through Leucadia on June 28th and 29th. These shots are from the Donkeys set, captured by Ian Tordella who performed later with Mattson 2. I think the Donkey may have had the most fun of anybody. Their set ended in an all out beach ball war between themselves and the groms up front.

Check out this sweet interview with headliners, Mattson 2 from korduroy.tv. The show they are playing towards the end is one we ruthless hippies produced with Mattson 2 at the Encinitas Library recently.

PS Ray Barbee had to drop out of the show but Jonathan and Jared are inviting some special guests to perform with them.

Every day is a good day to clean the beach, but it’s always more fun with some like minded friends. Join Eco-Rooted as they comb through about a third of Encintas’ shoreline starting at 11:30AM on Saturday June 30th. Look for a big group at Moonlight Beach. Bring gloves and buckets if you have them, if you don’t, Eco-Rooted can hook you up. The beach clean up moves northward and conveniently ends at Beacons Beach, a close spot for you to stroll down the hill to catch the music happening at Roadside Park.
